Radio Stasis is a state of prolonged immobility caused by great radio. For instance, when a driver has arrived at their destination but is mentally unable to get out of their car until the song or programme has finished.

We are Marta, Miguel, Meghan, Roberta and Ceola, the co-founders and core team of Radio Stasis. We are all graduates from the Social Design and Contextual Design Masters at Design Academy Eindhoven. Our work, which varies in theme and medium, finds common ground in a live and experimental use of performance, language and sound.
Moving to Rotterdam at the end of 2020, during the second national lockdown, Radio Stasis provided us with a platform to gather around. It allowed us to connect with those outside our immediate network, and to get to know the creative scene within Rotterdam, during a time when opportunities for connection were limited. Despite the closure of physical cultural spaces, Radio Stasis has aided us in sharing our work, and work in progress, with an audience.
Radio Stasis was born during the Moving in Stasis exhibition at Het Nieuwe Instituut in March & April 2021. We are very grateful to Design Academy Eindhoven and Het Nieuwe Instituut for their initial support and to all the other MA 2020 Graduates who were part of the exhibition.
